Friday evening the D1 team headed to Elkins Speedway to vie for a position in the IRS sanctioned event.  Due to drive shaft issues the team was unable to qualify for this event, finishing one spot out of the qualifying spot.  After fixing this problem, the team left for Winchester Speedway Saturday evening.  After pill drawing to start in the 8th spot of the 2nd heat race, Bo finished 4th.  Due to Bo’s feature win the weekend before, he was unable to start any higher than the 12th spot for the feature event.  A last lap surge left Bo and the D1 finishing in the 4th spot, only a bumper out of the 3rd position.  DPE would like to thank the driver and crew for an excellent weekend of racing with many more to come.

Crusin’ for  Courtney III update: The D1 tribute door panel finally made it to the Bedford Speedway this Friday evening.  Coordinator Michael Sotosky created excitement about the door through his announcing skills and the first evening out the door raised $68.  The door is scheduled to make a visit to the Conemaugh Township High School this week.   If you haven’t had a chance to sign this commemorative door look for it next Friday at Bedford and at the event on May 11th.

Unfortunately, mother nature rained out all of our racers this weekend.  However, we were finally able to take a few photos of the new D1. We would like to dedicate this update to all of the drunk race fans at Bedford Speedway!  Keep checkin up on us!

D1 Motorsports is proud to announce that we will be once again participating in the Cruisin’ for Courtney event this May.  The benefit will be held on May 11th at the Conemaugh Township Area High School in Davidsville from noon until 4 p.m.  The inaugural event in 2006 was organized by a group of local automobile enthusiasts in an effort to raise money for the family of local teen Courtney Rummel who had been diagnosed with cancer.  Unfortunately, Courtney lost this battle the morning of the benefit.  Her family has decided to continue this event in her memory and in hopes to raise money for other local families with children in need.  This will be the third year for the event and the second year for DPE and the D1 to be proudly involved.  A commemorative D1 door panel has been specifically designed to be signed by the public and the monies raised to be donated to Cruisin’ for Courtney III.  The door panel should be on display and available to sign Friday evening at the Bedford Speedway.  The D1 team and driver Bo Feathers hope to race the door panel with all of the signatures on the D1 at a later event at the Bedford Speedway, hopefully the Memorial Day Special.  We encourage you to participate in CFC III and help our local families in need
