Hobby stock driver Tom Warren has been a long time friend and supporter of Dietz Performance Engines. Tom has driven his #1 cruiser to victory lane many times over the past 10 plus years with DPE power under the hood.  Tom’s past accomplishments include:

1998 first ever hobby stock champion Bedford Speedway
1999 Sportsman of the year award Bedford Speedway
2005 hobby stock champion Somerset County Speedway
         (Scoring 7 feature wins)
2005 Western Maryland National Champion, Rock Speedway
2006 Pure stock Champion, Thunder Valley Raceway
         (Scoring 9 feature wins)
2006 Western Maryland National Champion, Rock Speedway
2007 Western Maryland National Champion, Rock Speedway
in a row.

Joining the DPE family in 2006 was Patrick McDonough driving the 96H Swampcreek street stock. Only racing part time in the 06 season due to work obligations, Patrick finished his debut DPE season with 6 wins.  Racing full time at Thunder Valley in the 2007 season, Patrick ended his racing year with 2 feature event wins and 3 heat race victories.  These wins and great finishes placed Patrick 3rd in the points chase for season.  Patrick hopes to continue racing at TVR and do some traveling in the 2008 season.

The DPE house car owned by engine builder Preston Dietz made its debut late in the 2006 season with DJ Myers behind the wheel. Racing only 11 times, DPE finished the season with 3 wins and 3 2nds.  The 2007 season brought the team to many of the local speedways for both weekly and sanctioned events.  The year yielded 3 more feature wins including Thunder by the Lake at Hesston Speedway and an IRS sanctioned event at Winchester Speedway.  The 2008 season will have Bo Feathers wheeling the D1.

Also wheeling a DPE in a different kind of racing is Keith Wartluft. Keith drag races a 1973 Chevy Nova. Not competing on a weekly basis, Keith enjoys competing at the Hagerstown Speedway and Pittsburgh Raceway park.

Officially joining the DPE possee in 2007, Greg “Mooch” Cornell Jr. raced his #3 Street Stock weekly at Thunder Valley Raceway.  Mooch was able to score 3 feature wins and 5 heat race victories at TVR. These wins and great finishes landed Mooch the 2nd place position in the point’s championship.  Mooch hopes to continue to race at TVR and do some traveling in the 2008 season.

Joining the DPE posse this year is Jacob Hinton driving the 53 HS. Jacob will start his second full racing season at the Rock Speedway on a regular basis. Visit Jacob's website at

Joe Railey became an “adopted” member of the DPE family midseason 2007 after purchasing Tom Warren’s hobby stock and engine.  This was Joe’s first year in a race car and he performed extraordinarily in his debut season.  Joey plans to race full time in the Hobby Stock division at The Rock Speedway in 2008

DPE would like to welcome Jamie Kohan to the DPE possee for the 2008 season. Jamie will be racing his #26 Pure Stock at Thunder Valley and at various local tracks in the 08 season.
Also joining DPE this season will be Ryan Beckett.  An engine is currently under way for the 58 hobby stock driver.  Ryan will be racing at the Bedford Speedway on a weekly basis this season.  This year Ryan is running a “throw-back” paint scheme of his dad George’s 2002 street stock.
